Purpose of the Position

Responsible for the engineering and project management of Thickener Drives, Lifts, and associated lubrication systems for both Spare Parts and Modernization projects. This role ensures projects are executed within scope, schedule, and budget, while coordinating design and drafting resources locally and through Global Business Centers. The position works closely with Service Business Product Specialists and Procurement to optimize design, fabrication, and procurement costs for lift and drive components.

Your responsibilities

  • Contribute to Modernization Projects, complex engineered components, and standardization initiatives.

  • Develop fabrication and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models in SolidWorks.

  • Prepare spare parts lists, bills of materials, and project-specific specifications.

  • Identify and recommend correct or alternative part numbers for repairs and replacements.

  • Ensure project delivery in alignment with scope, schedule, and budget requirements.

  • Review and approve design drawings for accuracy and compliance.

  • Collaborate with global resources to complete deliverables.

  • Provide on-site and regional support for equipment issues, fabrication, manufacturing, installation, and sales activities.

  • Actively participate in team efforts and contribute to achieving collective goals.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously (typically 3–4), depending on project status.

  • Operate with minimal supervision.

What You Bring
  • 4–8 years of mechanical engineering design experience, preferably in the mining industry.

  • Strong product knowledge of Thickeners and Drives (EIMCO & DORR); familiarity with comminution products is an advantage.

  • Solid understanding of engineering design fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, industrial part fabrication, tolerances), materials, and global quality standards.

  • Proficiency with engineering design tools and PLM systems (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Enovia).

  • Basic understanding of design requirements across other engineering disciplines (electrical, process, etc.).

  • Skilled in change management and conflict resolution.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
