A housekeeping associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized environment in settings like hotels or commercial buildings. Key duties include cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms and public areas, making beds, replenishing supplies like toiletries and linens, and reporting maintenance issues. They must also follow safety and sanitation procedures, handle guest belongings with care, and provide friendly customer service. Key responsibilities

  • Cleaning and sanitizing: Perform all cleaning duties in guest rooms and public areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing bathrooms.
  • Room turnover: Clean and prepare guest rooms according to hotel standards, which includes making beds, replacing linens and towels, and restocking amenities.
  • Public area maintenance: Ensure all common areas, such as lobbies, hallways, and restrooms, are clean and well-maintained.
  • Supply management: Replenish consumable items like toiletries, paper products, and other guest supplies, and assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory.
  • Reporting and maintenance: Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor and ensure cleaning equipment is in good working condition.
  • Guest services: Respond promptly to guest requests, handle guest belongings with care, and maintain guest privacy.
  • Safety and compliance: Adhere strictly to all company and industry health, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.

  • Physical stamina: The job requires physical strength and stamina for activities like standing for long periods, bending, and lifting.
