About the Role:

We are seeking a Data Centre Technician to serve as the technical liaison between our technology teams and the Data Centre environment. The ideal candidate will be a skilled troubleshooter with expertise across servers, storage, networking, and infrastructure systems. You will handle escalations, ensure operational excellence, and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives.

This is a hands-on, onsite role in a demanding environment, requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the first point of contact for infrastructure troubleshooting; escalate complex issues appropriately.

Participate in installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and software.

Handle escalated 2nd-level technical issues and lead problem management cases.

Manage escalated support cases, coordinate with internal technical resources and/or 3rd-party vendors.

Support OS installation, upgrades, bug fixes, and patching activities.

Perform hardware replacements (e.g., hard drives, DIMMs, power supplies, network components).

Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues.

Replace AOC, QSFP, MPO, and Cat6 cables, and troubleshoot switch issues including replacements.

Ensure proper racking, stacking, and cable management in compliance with Data Centre standards.

Support projects focused on standardization of hardware/software under the Oracle technology stack.

Ensure consistent system uptime aligned with IaaS environment requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or equivalent technical discipline (preferred).

Experience:

3+ years in Data Centre environments (racking, stacking, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).

Strong hands-on experience with Linux and server hardware.

Knowledge of networking technologies, storage systems, and troubleshooting methodologies.

Experience in a 24/7 shift-based environment.

Technical Competencies:

Data Centre infrastructure knowledge (power, cooling, cabling).

Server performance management and troubleshooting.

Base OS installation and configuration.

Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
