FOARD (Foundation for Organic Agriculture & Rural Development) is a not-for-profit Section 8 organization committed to advancing sustainable, regenerative farming and resilient rural livelihoods across India since 2006. We provide comprehensive consultancy services to farmers, FPOs, agri-businesses, and development partners, helping them achieve certifications and improve agricultural practices. FOARD also offers training programs, public-good facilitation, and system design to support producer groups. Our approach combines practical, field-tested methods, rapid diagnostics, and data-informed solutions to create measurable outcomes and improved compliance.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Farm Sustainability Advisor located in Aluva. (Travel- pan India.) The Farm Sustainability Advisor will conduct sustainability consulting, prepare sustainability reports, provide analytical support, and work on sustainable development projects. The advisor will also offer end-to-end consultancy for various agricultural certification programs and help in designing and implementing internal control systems for producer groups. Day-to-day tasks include working closely with farmers, conducting risk assessments, and delivering field-based training and workshops to promote best practices in sustainable agriculture.

Qualifications

  • Sustainability Consulting and Sustainable Development skills
  • Analytical Skills for data interpretation and problem-solving
  • Experience in Sustainability Reporting and preparing detailed reports
  • Strong Consulting skills to provide end-to-end support for certification programs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work on-site and interact directly with farmers and local communities
  • Background in agricultural science, environmental studies, or a related field is beneficial
  • Experience with training and capacity-building initiatives
