Position Summary :

We are looking for a seasoned infrastructure engineer with deep expertise in the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) platform, software-defined networking (NSX), storage/vSAN, and desktop virtualization (VDI). In this role you will plan, design, implement and operate enterprise-scale, software-defined data centre (SDDC) environments. You will be responsible for full lifecycle delivery from initial architecture through deployment, migration, automation, operations and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities :

• Plan, design and deploy VCF environments including the management domain and one or more workload domains (compute, storage, networking) in private or hybrid cloud settings.
• Deploy and configure VMware NSXT Data Center (and NSX-V if needed) components: logical switching, distributed routing, firewalls (micro-segmentation), load balancing, and network services.
• Design, build and manage vSAN clusters including stretched clusters, fault domains, storage policies, deduplication and replication.
• Deploy and configure the VMware Aria Suite (formerly vRealize Suite) components: Aria Operations (vROps), Aria Automation (vRA), Aria Operations for Networks (vRNI), Aria Lifecycle, etc.
• Lead and execute large-scale migrations into VCF/SDDC: legacy 3-tier infrastructures, heterogeneous virtualization, remote datacenters. Use VMware HCX, vMotion, SRM, cold migrations, etc.
• Develop and maintain automation/infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for provisioning, governance and lifecycle operations (using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, Python etc.).
• Monitor, tune and optimise the entire stack (compute, storage, networking) for performance, availability, capacity and cost. Use Aria Suite monitoring, analytics, alerts.
• Create, maintain and continuously improve documentation: architecture design (HLD/LLD), run-books, standard operating procedures (SOPs), migration plans, rollback strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (networking, storage, security, applications) to ensure integrated and aligned solutions.
• Provide mentorship, training and knowledge transfer to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Ensure full compliance with security, governance, resilience and business continuity standards across the SDDC.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in enterprise Virtualization, cloud infrastructure or data centre transformations.
• Strong hands-on experience in VCF: planning, deploying, managing lifecycle of the platform. In+2
• Demonstrable experience with NSX-T / NSX-V: design and deployment of logical networks, micro-segmentation, firewall policies.
• Deep knowledge of vSAN: cluster build-out, storage policies, fault domains, stretched clusters.
• Experience with VMware Aria Suite (vROps, vRA/Automation, vRNI, Lifecycle).
• Experience with VMware HCX, migrations from legacy environments, datacenter consolidation.
• Strong automation and scripting skills (PowerCLI, Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across compute, network, storage; strong capacity planning and performance optimisation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to work in cross-functional and global teams, create documentation and deliver training.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with VMware VDI / Horizon environments.
• VMware certifications: VCP-DCV, VCAP, VCIX, or VCF Specialist.
• Familiarity with containerisation/Kubernetes integration in SDDC (e.g., VMware Tanzu).
• Exposure to hybrid / multi-cloud architectures (on-premises to public cloud).
• Experience with disaster recovery solutions, business continuity planning (e.g., SRM).
• Knowledge of ITIL/Agile frameworks and service-oriented operations.
