Observability Engineer

Requirements
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Observability Developer to design, templatize, and manage Grafana Dashboards for our cloud-native observability platform. You will play a key role in visualizing key metrics, logs, traces, and profiles, enabling real-time insights and alerting across our distributed systems.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about monitoring, data visualization, and turning complex telemetry data into actionable insights through intuitive dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, customize, and maintain Grafana dashboards for metrics, logs, traces, and system performance.

Create templatized and reusable dashboard components to ensure scalability across multiple environments and services.

Integrate Grafana with data sources such as Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Mimir, and other observability tools.

Work with application and infrastructure teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level objectives (SLOs).

Develop alerting rules and notification channels within Grafana.

Implement version control for dashboards using GitOps practices and tools like Grafana provisioning, Terraform, or Grafana APIs.

Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to improve observability standards and telemetry practices.

Maintain documentation and provide support for dashboard usage across teams.

Required Qualifications:

2–5 years of hands-on experience with Grafana dashboard development.

Strong experience with templating, variables, reusable panels, and Grafana provisioning.

Good understanding of observability principles: metrics, logs, traces, and profiling.

Familiarity with data sources such as Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, or Mimir.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code or automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Helm, GitHub Workflows).

Solid understanding of monitoring and alerting best practices.

Comfortable working in Kubernetes environments (Amazon EKS preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a GitOps workflow with tools like ArgoCD.

Exposure to scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) or automation for dashboard deployment.

Knowledge of healthcare IT, PACS, or imaging informatics is a plus.

Familiarity with Grafana Cloud or multi-tenant dashboard management.
