Job Summary:

The Counsellor will provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions, assess individual needs, and deliver tailored support to help clients/students manage stress, career decisions, emotional challenges, and personal development. The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and committed to helping people achieve their personal and professional goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for [students/clients/employees] on personal, emotional, academic, or career-related issues.
  • Assess clients needs and develop action or treatment plans based on those assessments.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of counselling sessions and progress.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Guide individuals in setting realistic goals and developing coping strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, healthcare professionals, or HR (depending on setting) to provide comprehensive support.
  • Refer clients to external professionals or services when issues go beyond the scope of internal support.
  • Organize and deliver workshops or seminars on topics such as mental health, time management, stress reduction, and career planning.
  • Stay updated with the latest counselling techniques, tools, and legal regulations.

Required Skills :

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High levels of empathy, patience, and discretion.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Familiarity with counselling tools, psychological assessments, or career guidance platforms.
  • Strong ethical judgment and commitment to client confidentiality.
