KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

Key responsibilities are developing High-end PLC programs, integration with drive, interfacing with other devices/PCs/Computing platforms using different communication means & protocol, optimizing system performance, integrating new technologies, and troubleshooting system issues. 

Primary Competencies

· Architectural design of system in control & communication point of view,

· Detail designs of control system ,

· High-end  PLC (
Siemens PLC only

) program development.  Advance knowledge  & Working experience in FBD , STL / SCL and  basic exposure (optional)  in GRAPH / SFC 

· Practical experience in implementing  motion control for  industrial automation with advance knowledge of handling (any make)  Drive and interfacing with PLC &

· Knowledge of WINCC or similar s/w for HMI development They work with various control system components, including PLCs, HMIs (Human Machine Interface), motion control hardware, and safety systems, to create and maintain automated processes. 

  • Should be working hands on scripting language currently.
  • Should have drive knowledge.
  • Should have motion control knowledge.

Job  Description

  • PLC Programming and Troubleshooting
  • Develop, modify, and optimize PLC logic (LAD, FBD, SCL, etc.).
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC and I/O-related issues.
  • Maintain logic consistency across machines and ensure standardization.
  • Machine Automation & Commissioning
  • Oversee control system integration with drive &  industrial machines.
  • Validate sensor/actuator interfacing, safety systems, and communication protocols.
  • Ensure successful installation, configuration, and testing of PLCs.
  • Documentation & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) management
  • Prepare and maintain PLC logic documentation, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and version control.
  • Develop SOPs for machine operation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Team Coordination & Support
  • Supervise or assist junior engineers and technicians.
  • Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and production teams for smooth operation.
  • Act as a liaison between production and automation design teams.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure machine safety interlocks are functional and meet standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments for automation systems.
  • Adhere to safety norms like ISO 13849, IEC 61508, etc.
  • Process Improvement & Upgrades
  • Identify automation opportunities to improve cycle time, accuracy, or energy efficiency.
  • Evaluate and implement PLC upgrades or migrations (e.g., S7-300 to S
  • Analyze machine downtime and propose corrective actions.
  • SCADA/HMI Integration
  • Oversee development or modification of HMI/SCADA screens (WinCC, TIA Portal).
  • Monitor data logging, alarms, and historical trends.
  • Reporting & Analytics
  • Generate regular reports on machine performance, downtime causes, and PLC error logs.
  • Present findings and suggestions to senior management.
