Role Overview

Were looking for a SDE-2 with strong expertise in Flutter and deep familiarity with the PERN stack (Postgres, Express, React, Node).

This is a hands-on leadership role where youll architect and build BedRs flagship mobile app, oversee full-stack web development, and mentor a growing engineering team. Youll work closely with the founders, shaping the product roadmap and setting technical direction in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and own BedRs flagship Flutter mobile app (iOS and Android) with clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
  • Oversee the development of BedRs web platform (PERN stack) guide, review, and collaborate with the web development team.
  • Partner with the founders, product, and design teams to plan and deliver new features rapidly.
  • Optimize cross-platform performance, scalability, and security for both mobile and web.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and implement CI/CD pipelines.
  • Troubleshoot issues, manage edge cases, and deliver a frictionless experience for both students and PG owners.
  • Mentor junior developers, promote technical best practices, and lead by example.
  • Establish strong development standards: testing, documentation, and clean architecture.
  • Participate in technical interviews and contribute to building a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Take full ownership build, iterate, and scale products with direct user impact.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven expertise in Flutter, Dart, and mobile app architecture.
  • Strong experience building and deploying production apps on Google Play and Apple App Store.
  • Proficiency in the PERN stack (Postgres, , , ).
  • Hands-on experience in RESTful APIs, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of version control and CI/CD workflows (Git, pipelines, testing automation).
  • Experience leading small teams or projects and conducting code reviews.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and adaptability in a startup environment.
  • Growth mindset driven by impact, innovation, and BedRs mission.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payment gateway integrations or automated rent solutions.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript, SEO optimization, and server-side rendering ).
  • Exposure to startup or early-stage environments.
  • Understanding of prop-tech or marketplace products.
