We are hiring - Senior QA Tester

Role Purpose:

The Senior QA Tester ensures software quality by designing, executing, and managing both manual and automated tests across test phases, including System Test, System Integration Test, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). This role collaborates closely with Test Managers, Scrum Masters, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and Product Owners to define and execute tests aligned with the Test Strategy, Plan, and Controls. Responsibilities include creating test plans, reporting outcomes, raising defects with clear evidence, and driving continuous quality improvements. The role requires a deep understanding of products, applications, and interfaces underpinning end-to-end business processes.

Key Accountabilities:

-Contribute to test strategy and plans in line with client's UK framework and audit standards.

-Review and assess user stories, requirements, and specifications for test feasibility.

-Ensure optimized test coverage and provide accurate test evidence.

-Coach and advise testers; act as deputy for Test Manager when needed.

-Prepare and manage required test data with stakeholders.

-Design test specifications, test cases, and traceability to requirements.

-Accurately report test results, raise defects, and provide evidence for resolution.

-Drive continuous improvement with a quality-first mindset.

-Peer review test design & coverage, ensuring adherence to client's Test Framework.

-Execute automated tests and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting.

-Conduct all test phases, including integration with third-party systems (e.g., Experian, PaySafe, Aggregators).

-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality across the Software Development Lifecycle.

Functional / Technical Skills:

-8+ years in software testing or QA management (Insurance, Financial Services, e-Commerce preferred).

-Knowledge of SDLC methodologies: Agile, Waterfall, DevOps, Rapid Prototyping, Incremental, Spiral.

-Experience with test management tools (e.g., Zephyr), SQL, and test automation frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium, Ruby).

-Exposure to RESTful API and SOAP integration testing.

-Ability to work across in-house and outsourced engineering teams.

-ISTQB/BCS or equivalent testing qualification.

-Strong problem-solving, time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Decision-Making Authority / Impact:

-Accountable for demonstrating that all test cases meet business outcomes without regulatory or customer impact.

-Ensures adherence to client's UK Test Framework and controls.
