Senior Data Modeler Job Description Position overview Seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to design, develop, and maintain robust data models and enterprise data architecture to support analytical and operational systems. The ideal candidate will translate business requirements into scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models, drive data standards and governance, and collaborate across engineering, analytics, and product teams to ensure high-quality data solutions. Key responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end data modeling for new and existing systems, producing conceptual, logical, and physical models.
• Translate business requirements and use cases into data model designs that support analytics, reporting, and operational needs.
• Define and drive reusable modeling patterns, naming conventions, and data modeling standards across the enterprise.
• Design new / redesign-existing schemas for data warehouses, data lakes, and operational databases, optimizing for performance and maintainability.
• Work with data engineers to translate models into implemented schemas in relational and cloud-native databases.
• Collaborate with BI/reporting teams to ensure models support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Support master data management, reference data, and metadata strategies; contribute to data lineage and impact analysis.
• Review and validate data structures, ETL/ELT pipelines, and transformations to ensure consistency with model definitions.
• Mentor junior modelers and provide thought leadership on modeling techniques (dimensional, normalized, Data Vault, etc.).
• Participate in data governance initiatives, contribute to data dictionaries, and ensure compliance with data quality and security policies. Required qualifications & experience
