Deputy General Manager - Security

Strategic

• Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy for the site's automated systems.
• Align security initiatives with the overall business objectives and operational goals of the site.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of the security strategy to address emerging threats and technological advancements. Participate in the meetings related to security best practices for procurement of equipment, materials, and resources necessary for pyrometallurgical or hydro operations.

Supervision & Coordination

• Lead and supervise a team of security professionals and automation engineers.
• Coordinate with various departments to ensure seamless integration of security measures across all automated systems.
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the security team and other stakeholders.
• Oversee the day-to-day security project and automation operations of KCL and KCTL as holistic, ensuring adherence to security, safety and quality standards.
• Monitor and report any unusual activity or discrepancies to PSH.

Asset Protection

• Ensure strict security protocols are enforced for the safeguarding of gold, silver, and other high-value materials in the production section.
• Implement robust security measures to protect critical assets, including SCADA systems, PLCs, and other industrial control systems.
• Ensure the physical and cyber security of all automated systems and related infrastructure.
• Conduct regular assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks to critical assets.

Incident Response

• Respond promptly and effectively to any security breaches, alarms, or incidents that arise during the shift.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external law enforcement agencies, when necessary, to investigate and resolve security incidents.
• Develop and maintain an incident response plan for security breaches and cyber-attacks.
• Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
• Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

Security Systems Monitoring

• Monitor automated systems for security threats and vulnerabilities using advanced security tools and technologies.
• Implement continuous monitoring and real-time alerting mechanisms to detect and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Regularly review and update monitoring protocols to ensure effectiveness.

Project Management

• Lead security-related projects, including the implementation of new security technologies and systems.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project completion.
• Coordinate with vendors and external partners to procure and deploy security solutions.

Compliance and Protocol

• Ensure compliance with the company's security policies, local laws, and regulatory requirements related to the production, storage, and transport of precious metals.
• Ensure all security staff are adhering to company procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards.

Training and Development

• Conduct security training and awareness programs for staff involved in automation processes.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
• Provide regular reports on the security status of automated systems to senior management.
• Document security incidents and responses, including lessons learned and recommendations for improvement.

Emergency Preparedness

• Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans to ensure operational continuity in the event of a security incident.
• Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
• Collaborate with emergency response teams to coordinate efforts during security incidents.
• Ensure regular maintenance and testing of security automation systems.
• Provide training and development opportunities for security personnel
• Ensure regular backups of critical security automation systems and have a disaster recovery plan in place.

Technology and IT Enablement

• Leverage advanced security technologies and IT solutions to enhance the security of automated systems.
• Implement and manage security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management tools.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and their potential impact on industrial automation security

• 12 -15 years of experience in security management, preferably in high-value asset industries such as precious metals, banking, or high-security warehousing, is preferred. Prior experience in the gold or silver production sector is a plus.
• Rich experience managing Security MIS, reporting performance parameters tracking varied Security operations and systems/system applications and Data Management tools.
• Proven experience in managing security for SCADA systems, PLCs, and other industrial control systems.
• Experience of dealing with multiple stakeholders – internal as well as external
• Preferably to have worked in manufacturing plants with diversified businesses
