The Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Ice Cream Division will be responsible for leading the end-to-end business operations of the ice cream division, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, product quality, and market growth. This role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and a deep understanding of the FMCG/dairy/ice-cream industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations across manufacturing, distribution, and sales channels.
  • Drive production planning, cost optimization, and capacity utilization.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and quality standards (FSSAI compliance).
  • Monitor key operational KPIs including yield, wastage, and plant efficiency.

2. Sales & Marketing Support

  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop business strategies and achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and product segments.
  • Monitor pricing strategies, trade promotions, and brand positioning.

3. Product & Quality Management

  • Collaborate with R&D for new product development and flavour innovation.
  • Ensure consistent product quality through strong process and vendor management.
  • Oversee packaging design, cold chain management, and storage protocols.

4. Financial & P&L Accountability

  • Manage divisional budgets, cost control, and profitability targets.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of production cost, wastage, and margins.
  • Support leadership in developing annual business plans and forecasts.

5. Team Leadership

  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across production, logistics, QA, and sales.
  • Drive a performance-oriented culture through structured KRAs and KPIs.
  • Coordinate with HR for manpower planning and training needs.

6. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Submit regular MIS reports and business reviews to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Food Technology, Dairy Science, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum
    10–15 years
    of experience in the FMCG/Dairy/Ice Cream sector, with at least
    5 years in a leadership role
    .
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence and business growth.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and leadership skills.
