Legal Manager

Job Description:

We are looking for a Litigation & Recovery Manager to handle legal and recovery cases for secured business loan and SME portfolios. The incumbent will be responsible for managing end-to-end recovery processes through legal actions, particularly under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, and ensuring effective portfolio resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor litigation and recovery cases for the secured business loan/SME portfolio.
• Initiate and follow up on legal proceedings under NI Act Section 138 and other applicable recovery laws.
• Coordinate with empaneled advocates, law firms, and internal teams to ensure timely filing and closure of cases.
• Track pending cases and ensure proper documentation, MIS reporting, and compliance with company policies.
• Conduct regular reviews of delinquent accounts and recommend suitable recovery/legal actions.
• Support field recovery teams and guide them on appropriate legal and recovery strategies.
• Attend court hearings and liaise with local authorities as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Graduate / LLB preferred.
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in litigation and recovery, preferably in NBFC or banking sector.
• Good knowledge of NI Act 138, SARFAESI, Arbitration, and related recovery laws.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and case tracking MIS.
