Responsibilities

  1. Software Development

  2. Collaborate with senior developers to design and implement new features using Java and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).

  3. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices (SOLID principles, design patterns, etc.).

  4. Front-End Implementation

  5. Develop user-facing functionalities with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (or TypeScript).

  6. Work with front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) to create responsive, intuitive user interfaces.

  7. Back-End Services & APIs

  8. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot).

  9. Integrate with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and optimize queries for performance.

  10. Testing & Debugging

  11. Write unit tests, integration tests, and participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code.

  12. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance, and security issues under guidance from senior team members.

  13. Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD)

  14. Use CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to automate builds, tests, and deployments.

  15. Assist in deployment of new releases to staging and production environments.

  16. Collaboration & Agile Practices

  17. Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to sprint goals.

  18. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, UX/UI) to align on requirements and solutions.

  19. Documentation & Code Maintenance

  20. Maintain technical documentation of features, APIs, and system components.

  21. Refactor code to improve readability, performance, and scalability over time.

  22. Learning & Professional Development

  23. Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends, especially in Java and front-end ecosystems.

  24. Seek mentorship from senior developers and actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions.

Competencies

  1. Educational Background

  2. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).

  3. Foundational Java Skills

  4. 12 years of experience (academic or professional) in Java programming (Java 8+ preferred).

  5. Basic familiarity with Spring/Spring Boot for back-end development.

  6. Front-End Experience

  7. Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (or TypeScript).

  8. Exposure to at least one front-end framework (React, Angular, or Vue) through projects or internships.

  9. Database Knowledge

  10. Basic understanding of SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

  11. Ability to write simple queries and perform basic database operations.

  12. Version Control & Collaboration

  13. Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.

  14. Understanding of branching, merging, and pull request workflows.

  15. Testing & Debugging

  16. Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Jest) and debugging tools.

  17. Desire to learn best practices in test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD).

  18. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  19. Eagerness to tackle complex challenges and learn new technologies.

  20. Ability to troubleshoot issues methodically and propose efficient solutions.

  29. Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
