Role & responsibilities

  • Routine and preventive maintenance: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure they are in good working order. This includes tasks like checking oil levels, replacing worn parts, and cleaning equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and repair: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues and perform timely repairs to fix broken equipment and fixtures. This involves using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to find and fix the root cause of problems.
  • Installation: Install new machinery, equipment, and systems, and ensure they are set up and functioning correctly.
  • Facility maintenance: Address a variety of facility upkeep needs, including structural repairs (e.g., windows, doors), painting, and maintaining landscaping and grounds.
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and protocols, such as lockout/tagout procedures. They also perform safety checks to identify and fix potential hazards.
  • Record keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. This is especially critical in regulated environments.
  • Inventory management: Monitor and manage an inventory of spare parts and supplies, and place orders for new parts as needed.
  • Emergency response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime and address urgent issues.
  • Collaboration and communication: Work with other team members to coordinate maintenance activities, and communicate with supervisors and other departments as needed. They may also liaise with external specialists and contractors when necessary.
