The appointee will be responsible for delivering the theoretical curriculum and practical training for DAN&P students. The role involves teaching Ayurvedic principles, nursing procedures, and pharmacy preparation (Bhaishajya Kalpana), while also supervising students during their clinical duties in the hospital OPD/IPD.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic & Teaching Duties
- Theory Classes: Conduct lectures on core subjects such as:
- Sharir Rachana & Kriya (Basic Anatomy & Physiology).
- Dravya Guna (Identification of Medicinal Herbs).
- Bhaishajya Kalpana (Preparation of medicines like Kashayam, Churna, Vati, Taila).
- Swasthavritta (Hygiene, Yoga, and Preventive Medicine).
- Practical Demonstrations: Teach students how to identify raw drugs, prepare formulations in the pharmacy, and perform basic nursing tasks (vitals monitoring, wound dressing, bandage).
- Panchakarma Training: Train students in the practical application of therapies (Abhyanga, Swedana, Basti, Shirodhara, Nasya) including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
- Evaluation: Prepare internal assessment papers, conduct viva-voce, and grade student assignments.
2. Clinical & Hospital Duties
- OPD/IPD Management: Function as a Medical Officer in the attached Ayurvedic hospital, providing consultation and treatment to patients.
- Internship Supervision: Supervise DAN&P interns during their 6-month hospital rotation, ensuring they follow medical protocols and hygiene standards.
- Drug Dispensing: Oversee the hospital dispensary to ensure students learn proper dispensing techniques, dosage explanation, and stock management.
- Emergency Care: Train students on handling basic medical emergencies and first aid within an Ayurvedic setup.
3. Administrative Support
- Maintain student attendance registers and practical logbooks.
- Assist the college administration in organizing medical camps, herbal garden visits, and public health awareness programs.
- Ensure the department complies with state nursing council or university regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- Essential: B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from a recognized university.
- Preferred: MD (Ayurveda) or a specific certificate course in Panchakarma/Nursing education.
- Registration: Valid registration with the State Ayurvedic Board or NCISM (formerly CCIM).
- Experience:
- 0–2 years of experience for Tutor/Junior Lecturer positions.
- 2+ years of experience preferred for Senior Lecturer/Instructor positions.
- Note: Experience in a teaching hospital is highly valued.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹14, ₹35,000.00 per month
