SUMMARY

Senior Marine Technician

We are in search of an experienced and highly skilled Senior Marine Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting complete overhauls, troubleshooting, and maintenance of marine engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery. This role demands proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as HVAC maintenance. The technician will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices while upholding a high standard of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overhaul and Troubleshooting:
  2. Lead and execute complete overhauls of marine engines and generators.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in engines, generators, and auxiliary machinery.

  4. Perform preventative maintenance and corrective actions to minimize downtime.

  5. Spare Parts Management:

  6. Identify and order necessary spare parts for marine equipment.

  7. Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and usage.

  8. Auxiliary Machinery Maintenance:

  9. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all auxiliary machinery, including pumps, compressors, and related equipment.

  10. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on auxiliary systems.

  11. HVAC Maintenance:

  12. Conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC systems onboard vessels.

  13. Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems:

  14. Understand the principles of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  15. Conduct maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic components.

  16. Engine Installation & Commissioning:

  17. Participate in the installation and commissioning of new engines and generators.

  18. Steering Systems Maintenance:

  19. Maintain and repair marine steering systems to ensure operational efficiency.

  20. Safety & Compliance:

  21. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
  22. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, inboard and outboard marine engines, and propulsion systems.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience working with multiple engine brands and marine power systems.
  • Proven expertise in marine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, refrigeration, and auxiliary marine equipment.
  • Relevant marine certifications (e.g., STCW, OEM certifications, or Class Society-approved training) are highly preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and spare part catalogs.
