About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled
Software Development Engineer (SDE3)
to lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable software systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in
PHP and Python
, along with solid experience in system architecture, database design, and modern web frameworks. This is a leadership role that involves mentoring junior engineers, driving best practices, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Architecture:
    Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems and microservices.
  • Backend Development:
    Build and optimize backend solutions using PHP (with MVC architecture) and Python (Flask or FastAPI).
  • Database Management:
    Design, maintain, and optimize database schemas across SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis/Cassandra) systems.
  • Technical Leadership:
    Mentor and guide SDE1 and SDE2 engineers, perform code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Code Quality & Optimization:
    Promote clean coding, test-driven development (TDD), and CI/CD workflows. Identify and address performance bottlenecks and technical debt.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with cross-functional teams — including product, QA, and clients — to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Problem Solving:
    Debug and resolve complex issues across different layers of the system efficiently and independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on software development experience, with a strong focus on backend systems.
  • Proficiency in
    PHP
    , with in-depth experience implementing MVC-based applications.
  • Expertise in
    Python
    , with practical experience in
    Flask
    or
    FastAPI
    frameworks.
  • Strong command over
    SQL
    databases (schema design, query optimization, indexing) and experience with
    NoSQL
    databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra).
  • Proficient with version control (Git), data structures, algorithms, and OOP principles.
  • Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as
    AWS
    ,
    Azure
    , or
    GCP
    .
  • Knowledge of
    Docker
    ,
    Kubernetes
    , and containerized deployments.
  • Familiarity with message queues like
    RabbitMQ
    or
    SQS
    .
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.
  • Experience working in
    Agile/Scrum
    environments.
