Overview The ETL Testing + Python Programming role is critical for ensuring data integrity and quality within our organization. As we move towards data-driven decision-making, efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes become vital. This position will focus on developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies to validate ETL processes, thereby guaranteeing that data is accurately processed and transformed before it is stored or analyzed. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in Python programming to automate various testing scenarios and enhance the overall testing framework. By collaborating closely with data engineers and analysts, the ETL Tester will play a key role in streamlining and optimizing data workflows. This role not only demands technical proficiency but also a keen analytical mindset to identify and troubleshoot issues effectively. In a rapidly evolving data landscape, this position is paramount for the seamless operation of our data ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute ETL test strategies and methodologies.
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
  • Perform data validation and verification to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze and document discrepancies and issues arising during testing.
  • Work closely with ETL developers to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Assist in the preparation of test plans and test cases.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth data integration.
  • Utilize SQL to query databases and validate data extraction processes.
  • Implement performance and load testing on ETL processes.
  • Maintain test environments and ensure data quality metrics are monitored.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions and provide technical insights.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in ETL testing.
  • Provide training and support to team members regarding testing processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the testing process.
  • Create detailed documentation of testing processes and outcomes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in ETL testing and quality assurance.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with hands-on experience in automation.
  • Proficient in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Experience with major ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, or similar.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and methodologies.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling and database management.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Experience in using testing frameworks and methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies a plus.
  • Certification in testing methodologies (ISTQB or equivalent) preferred.
