About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Finance Manager to drive financial stewardship, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment across our R&D function. This role will lead key pillars of fixed asset governance, performance analytics, risk mitigation, controls & governance, and high-impact initiatives across Mumbai and Bangalore sites.

What You'll Do

  • Fixed Asset Governance

  • Manage a large base of fixed assets across two entities (HUL & UIPL) at Mumbai and Bangalore sites.

  • Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Develop MIS dashboards and analyze site performance.

  • Prepare and share monthly reports on OPEX, CAPEX, RDLT dashboards, management scorecards, and BRSR reporting.
  • Provide actionable insights and follow-up actions for decision-making.

  • Financial Analysis

  • Conduct deep dives into cost drivers and variance analysis.

  • Risk Management

  • Own the R&D Risk Register (8–10 identified risks), including proactive mitigation for high-risk items. Coordinate with respective owner of risk & get regular update on status of Mitigation.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive initiatives for process simplification, automation, and operational excellence.

  • Controls & Governance

  • Prepare and monitor the R&D controls framework.

  • Ensure GFCF controls for both sites.

  • Strategic Projects

  • Partner with site teams to deliver strategic R&D projects and provide financial support.

  • Month-End & Year-End Closing

  • Support closing activities and prepare investment business cases.

  • Audit Coordination

  • Coordinate statutory, CAD, IFC, and SOX audits.

  • Stakeholder Management

  • Act as point of contact for site operations with central/global teams.

  • Address ad hoc queries from site and central finance teams.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience managing financials for large/mid-size organizations.
  • Strong understanding of risk and controls.
  • Ability to manage teams and demonstrate peer leadership.
  • Expertise in process simplification and operational excellence.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Excel, SAP, Power point and Power BI.
