SAP Datasphere

Responsibilities

  • SAP Datasphere Development:
    Design, develop, and implement data models, views, and data flows within SAP Datasphere, leveraging its capabilities for data integration, transformation, and virtualized consumption.
  • Data Integration:
    Create and manage connections, data flows (replication flows, transformation flows), and data integrations from various SAP (e.g., SAP ECC, S/4HANA) and non-SAP source systems into SAP Datasphere.
  • Data Modelling & Architecture:
    Work closely with Data Architects to translate logical data models into efficient physical designs within SAP Datasphere, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Semantic Layer Creation:
    Develop and maintain a clear and consistent semantic layer within Datasphere to enable intuitive self-service analytics for business users.
  • Performance Optimization:
    Monitor and optimize the performance of data loads, data transformations, and data model queries within SAP Datasphere.
  • Troubleshooting & Support:
    Identify, analyse, and resolve data-related issues within the Datasphere environment, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Collaboration:
    Partner with Business Analysts to understand requirements and collaborate with BI Developers to ensure seamless consumption of Datasphere models in reporting tools.
  • Documentation & Best Practices:
    Create and maintain technical documentation for Datasphere models, data flows, and processes. Promote and enforce best practices for development and governance within the Datasphere landscape.
  • Agile Participation:
    Work as part of an Agile Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure timely and effective delivery.

Skills & Qualification:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience:
    Typically,
    6+ years of hands-on experience specifically with SAP Datasphere
    (or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud before its rebranding to Datasphere) development and implementation.
  • SAP Data Expertise:
    Strong understanding of SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA data structures and integration points. Experience with SAP BW is a significant advantage.
  • Data Modelling:
    Proficient in data modelling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema, 3NF) and their application within SAP Datasphere.
  • SQL Proficiency:
    Strong command of SQL for data manipulation, querying, and performance tuning within the SAP HANA context.
  • Cloud Data Concepts:
    Good understanding of cloud data warehousing and data lake concepts.
  • Problem-Solving:
    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Communication:
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Agile Methodologies:
    Familiarity with Agile Scrum development methodologies.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with
    SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
    for consuming data from Datasphere.
  • Knowledge of other cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS, GCP) or BI tools (e.g., Power BI).

Certification in SAP Datasphere or related SAP data technologies.
