Hiring for Product Designer - Handicrafts & Hard Goods
About the Role
We are seeking a creative Designer with expertise in handicrafts and hard goods (kitchenware, home décor, decorative products, and festive/seasonal items). The role involves developing innovative designs and seasonal collections for international buyers, from concept sketches and CAD work to sampling and approvals.
Responsibilities
- Research global design trends, colors, and materials.
- Develop product concepts, sketches, mood boards, CAD/3D visuals.
- Create seasonal/festive collections (e.g., Christmas décor), kitchen essentials, home décor.
- Coordinate with merchandising & production teams for prototypes and sampling.
- Select materials, finishes, and techniques for product development.
- Refine designs based on buyer feedback and ensure quality standards.
- Support business development with design presentations.
Requirements
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Product Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or related field.
- 3–5 years' design experience in an export house (handicrafts/hard goods).
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, AutoCAD/3D software.
- Strong creativity, trend forecasting, and visualization skills.
- Good communication and presentation abilities.
