Laboratory Manager

The mission of the Minerals department is to build a more efficient service delivery, to fulfil customers' needs, with implementation of COTECNA QMS.

The Laboratory Manager will have the responsibility to Overall supervision of technical work under his / her scope. Ensure Testing process as per flow chart.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring that person working lab are technically competent. Identifying training needs of persons working in lab.
• Determining work environment requirements in laboratory.
• Selection of appropriate test methods.
• Root cause analysis of internal / external testing quality related non-conformances including complaints if any and initiating appropriate corrective actions against those.
• Ensuring continuing suitability of test equipment including timely maintenance and calibration.
• Ensuring proper preservation of certified reference materials, development of working standards.
• Compliance with quality assurance plan.
• Calculating measurement uncertainty and controlling factors responsible for the same.
• Preparing annual training schedule.
• Arranging training as per schedule and verifying effectiveness of training.
• Initiate and establish continual improvement in laboratory operations.
• Periodic review of achievement of quality objectives and communicating to Managing Partner.
• ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Implementation and Maintenance
• Document Archival and Disposal
• Coordinate Internal & External audits. Ensuring timely conduct. Arranging follow-up audits, Closing the NC's and ensure effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Having sound knowledge of handling WD-XRF along with Wet chemical analysis for Iron, Bauxite, Manganese, Dolomite, Limestone.

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

• Masters in Analytical Chemistry
• Sound experience in testing years of relevant experience in TIC Sector)
• Trained ISO/IEC 17025: 2017 internal auditor.
