About the Role :

Are you a highly accomplished and visionary Shopify expert with over a decade of experience in crafting sophisticated eCommerce solutions? We are seeking a Lead Shopify Architect to join our innovative team in Kerala. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind the architectural design and implementation of large-scale, high-performance, and scalable Shopify Plus solutions. You will lead transformative projects that redefine online retail experiences for our clients, ensuring seamless integration, optimal performance, and adherence to the highest industry standards.

This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who can translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures, guide development teams, and act as a subject matter expert for all things Shopify.

Key Responsibilities : Leadership & Design :

- Define and design comprehensive Shopify Plus architectures, covering all facets of the eCommerce ecosystem, including storefronts, backend integrations, custom application development, and data flows.

- Lead the architectural decision-making process, evaluating various solutions and technologies to meet business objectives and technical requirements.

- Create detailed architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation to guide development and implementation Subject Matter Expertise :

- Serve as the definitive Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Shopify platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices.

- Possess deep proficiency in Liquid templating language, Shopify's Theme Architecture, and the intricacies of the Shopify Admin API and Storefront API.

- Provide expert guidance on headless commerce models, particularly leveraging Shopify Hydrogen and the Storefront API, to enable highly customized and performant front-end experiences.

- Stay abreast of new Shopify features, updates, and ecosystem developments, proactively recommending their adoption where Oversight & Quality Assurance :

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers (front-end, back-end), designers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality Shopify projects.

- Provide technical oversight, conduct code reviews, and ensure adherence to coding standards, security best practices, performance optimization guidelines, and Shopify's recommended development patterns.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert & Ecosystem Management :

- Design and oversee the integration of Shopify with critical third-party systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Product Information Management (PIM), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Order Management Systems (OMS), payment gateways, shipping providers, and marketing automation platforms.

- Evaluate and recommend suitable Shopify apps and custom solutions to extend platform & CI/CD Strategy :

- Establish, optimize, and manage robust CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines for seamless, automated Shopify theme and app code deployments, ensuring stability and efficiency.

- Implement version control strategies (e.g., Git) and best practices for collaborative development.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication :

- Translate complex technical concepts and solutions into clear, understandable language for non-technical business stakeholders.

- Lead discussions with clients and internal teams to gather requirements, present solutions, and ensure technical solutions align perfectly with business needs and expectations.

- Effectively manage stakeholder expectations and build strong, collaborative We're Looking For :

Proven Architect Experience : 10 years of progressive experience in web development and eCommerce, with a significant and proven track record (ideally 3-5 years specifically) in architecting, leading, and implementing complex Shopify Plus solutions for large-scale businesses.

Shopify Plus Expertise : Deep, hands-on experience with Shopify Plus platform capabilities, including advanced themes, custom app development, discounts, shipping, payments, and multi-store Proficiency :

- Strong proficiency in Liquid templating language.

- Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6 ), HTML5, and CSS3/Sass.

- Experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, , or similar) particularly in the

context of headless Shopify implementations (Hydrogen, , Gatsby).

- Familiarity with server-side development concepts , Ruby on Rails, or similar) for custom app Acumen : Extensive experience designing and implementing integrations with various third-party systems (e.g., ERP like SAP/NetSuite, PIM like Akeneo/Salsify, CRM like Salesforce, OMS like ShipStation/Netsuite OMS, Payment Gateways like Stripe/PayPal, Optimization : Deep understanding of eCommerce best practices, including :

- SEO Optimization : Knowledge of technical SEO requirements for eCommerce platforms.

- Performance Tuning : Expertise in optimizing website speed, Core Web Vitals, and overall site performance.

- Mobile Responsiveness : Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.

- Security : Awareness of common web vulnerabilities and secure coding & Leadership :

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences.

- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience mentoring development teams and driving technical initiatives.
