Role Description

  • Utilize technical knowledge in applying engineering fundamental principles to design and improve Flexco products. Become familiar with product functions and applications, and advise others as needed
  • Work with team members to analyze engineering problems. Become familiar with analysis methods and their applicability to helping solve problems.
  • Use CAD software (such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD) to create 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
  • Manage and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to improve and modify existing designs. Assess design impacts, prepare comprehensive documentation, and oversee implementation across cross-functional teams.
  • Manage the Product Change Order (PCO) process by evaluating proposed changes, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and documenting modifications to ensure compliance and product integrity.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop customized mechanical products based on client specifications and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards and communicate design progress and technical details to team members and stakeholders.
  • Oversee prototype development, testing, and validation to ensure designs meet functional requirements and customer expectations
  • Perform mechanical calculations, stress analysis, and simulations to ensure that designs meet performance, safety, and cost requirements
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during production and testing phases
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting design enhancements and efficiencies and implementing best practices

Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of professional experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) and 3D modelling
  • Knowledge in Ansys and Abaqus is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on high-quality, reliable designs.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills in mechanical design.
