We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Fares Analyst to join our UK Travel Domain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing airline fare structures, monitoring competitor pricing, and ensuring accurate fare filing in GDS/CRS systems. This role supports the sales, reservations, and marketing teams by providing competitive and compliant airfare solutions to maximize revenue while delivering exceptional value to customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Airfare Analysis & Filing
- Load and maintain airline fares, rules, and taxes in Amadeus, Sabre, and Galileo systems.
- Analyze airline contracts, fare sheets, and incentive structures for accurate application.
- Interpret airline circulars, bulletins, and fare updates to implement timely changes.
2. Competitive Monitoring
- Track competitor fare strategies within the UK travel market.
- Identify opportunities for competitive pricing and promotional fares.
- Recommend fare adjustments to maintain market competitiveness.
3. Revenue & Profitability Support
- Collaborate with revenue management teams to optimize fare structures and markups.
- Monitor net vs. published fares to ensure maximum profit margins.
- Assist sales teams with fare constructions, special quotes, and complex itineraries.
4. Compliance & Accuracy
- Ensure adherence to IATA, airline, and company fare policies.
- Minimize fare filing errors to reduce ADM (Agency Debit Memo) exposure.
- Maintain proper audit records of fare updates and modifications.
5. Collaboration & Support
- Liaise with airlines for contract negotiations and fare discrepancy resolutions.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless fare operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Travel, Tourism, Business, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in airfare filing, analysis, or revenue management within the UK travel domain.
- Strong working knowledge of GDS platforms (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo).
- Excellent understanding of airline contracts, fare rules, taxes, and ticketing procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and analytical tools.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with NDC (New Distribution Capability) and evolving airfare technologies.
- Exposure to corporate and retail travel pricing models.
