Role Overview:

As the Cloud & Infrastructure Lead, you will drive the architecture, deployment, and management of scalable and secure cloud infrastructure with a focus on AWS. You will lead a team of engineers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement infrastructure solutions for mission-critical applications especially in government and skilling domain projects.

You will be instrumental in managing complex cloud environments, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, and enterprise-grade observability setups.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture & Engineering (AWS):

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, EKS, S3, ALB/NLB, IAM, RDS/Postgres).
  • Optimize cloud cost, performance, and availability across environments.
  • Lead enterprise-wide AWS infrastructure projects including migration and greenfield deployments.

Containerization & Service Mesh:

  • Lead Kubernetes cluster operations (EKS, ROSA), including setup, scaling, and HA configurations.
  • Manage and configure service mesh tools like Istio for traffic control, security, and observability.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation:

  • Develop and manage IaC using Terraform and Ansible to standardize deployments.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, SonarQube, and Git integrations.

Monitoring & Observability:

  • Implement and maintain observability platforms including Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, and Graylog.
  • Establish logging, metrics, and alerting systems for proactive incident management.

Data Infrastructure & High Availability:

  • Manage cloud-native and self-hosted databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, Elasticsearch.
  • Ensure high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and data security compliance.

Project Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Lead large-scale infrastructure projects, especially in the government and skilling sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and government stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and guide DevOps and infrastructure engineers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services: VPC, EC2, IAM, EKS, RDS (Postgres), S3, ALB/NLB.
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes (EKS/ROSA) and service mesh (Istio).
  • Proficient in Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, SonarQube.
  • Skilled in setting up observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, Graylog, Dynatrace.
  • Experience with a variety of data stores: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Cassandra.
  • Strong understanding of network security, firewalls, IAM roles/policies, and compliance requirements.

Leadership & Delivery:

  • 10+ years in infrastructure/cloud/solution architect roles.
  • 4+ years of experience in leading cloud transformation or deployment teams.
  • Hands-on experience delivering high-impact government or large-scale public sector projects, especially in the education/skilling domain.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate degrees (M.Tech) or specialized certifications in cloud technologies are a strong plus.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
  • ITIL, TOGAF, or PMP certifications are advantageous.
