Role Overview

We are seeking a
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
with deep expertise in
Oracle Cerner systems
to support our
Information Systems Audit team
. This is a
part-time hybrid engagement
focused on evaluating the
functionality, security, compliance, and governance
of Oracle Cerner.

The SME will play a critical role in identifying control gaps, assessing regulatory compliance, and recommending actionable improvements to mitigate risks.


Objectives of the Audit

  • Assess risks and controls in Oracle Cerner across application functionality, configuration, integration, data security, access controls, governance, and compliance.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to data integrity, unauthorized access, and regulatory non-compliance.
  • Evaluate the system's effectiveness in managing clinical data, patient privacy, medical records, and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years in Oracle Cerner administration, implementation, or auditing
  • Strong understanding of Cerner architecture, modules, and security controls
  • Expertise in healthcare IT risk management and compliance (HIPAA, ADHICS, JCI, HIMSS)
  • Experience with audit logs, system performance, and data integrity
  • Preferred certifications:
    CISA, CISSP, HCISPP
    , or Cerner-specific credentials
  • Prior experience with internal audits or IT audit teams is a plus


Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevant Experience:
    Proven track record in Cerner HIS audits
  • Technical Competence:
    Deep knowledge of Cerner functionalities and controls
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards
  • Methodology:
    Clear and practical audit approach
