Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Production Head to lead our manufacturing operations. The role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling all production activities to meet delivery schedules, maintain quality, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, technical knowledge, and a proven track record in managing production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Control

  • Plan daily/weekly/monthly production schedules based on orders.
  • Allocate manpower, machines, and materials efficiently.
  • Monitor production output and adjust schedules as needed.

Operations Management

  • Oversee end-to-end production processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, finishing, etc.).
  • Ensure adherence to process parameters and quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement process improvements.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Work with the QC team to maintain product quality and reduce rejections.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen initiatives.
  • Analyse defects and take corrective/preventive action.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, train, and motivate production supervisors and shop-floor staff.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, and safety-conscious work culture.

Cost & Efficiency Control

  • Monitor and reduce production costs, wastage, and downtime.
  • Improve machine utilisation and throughput.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and certifications.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with planning, purchase, maintenance, and stores departments.
  • Prepare and present daily/weekly/monthly production reports to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 815 years experience in manufacturing, with at least 10 years in a production leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, quality systems, and shop-floor management.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and using production software (ERP/MRP).
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
