Role & responsibilities

The Plant HR Head will be responsible for driving the HR agenda at the plant, ensuring alignment with business goals, people strategy, and compliance requirements. This role will partner with the Plant Head and functional leaders to build a high-performance culture, strengthen industrial relations, and lead all HR initiatives at the plant, including talent management, employee engagement, and workforce productivity.

Preferred candidate profile

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Strategy & Business Partnership

  • Act as a strategic HR partner to the Plant Head, aligning people practices with business goals.
  • Drive workforce planning, productivity initiatives, and capability-building programs.

2. Talent Acquisition & Development

  • Lead recruitment and onboarding for plant-level roles (blue collar, white collar, and managerial).
  • Drive skilling, reskilling, and leadership development programs tailored to plant needs.
  • Manage succession planning for critical plant roles.

3. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Create and execute employee engagement initiatives to foster a motivated workforce.
  • Strengthen communication channels between management and employees.
  • Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives at the plant level.

4. Industrial Relations & Compliance

  • Maintain harmonious labor relations with unions, contract workers, and staff.
  • Handle collective bargaining, grievance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, statutory requirements, and corporate governance standards.

5. HR Operations & Administration

  • Oversee payroll, attendance, and time-office functions.
  • Manage contractors and third-party workforce effectively.
  • Monitor HR MIS, analytics, and dashboards for effective decision-making.

6. Health, Safety & Welfare

  • Partner with EHS teams to ensure safe and compliant working conditions.
  • Drive employee welfare, CSR, and community engagement initiatives around the plant.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA / PGDM in HR from a reputed institute.
  • 1218years of experience in HR, with at least 5+ years in Plant HR leadership roles in FMCG / Manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliance, and industrial relations.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale workforce (including unionized environment).
  • Exposure to automation, digital HR tools, and productivity improvement initiatives.
