Role Purpose:
Responsible for assembly, fitting, maintenance, and repair of sheet metal dies (progressive, compound, forming, piercing, trimming, bending dies, etc.) used in press machines for sheet metal component manufacturing.
Role & responsibilities :
1.Read and interpret engineering drawings and die assembly drawings.
2.Carry out fitting, assembling, dismantling, and adjustment of sheet metal dies.
3.Perform alignment, clearances, and die setting for smooth functioning.
4.Operate basic tool room machines (drill, grinder, lathe, milling, surface grinder).
5.Conduct die maintenance (preventive, corrective, breakdown).
6.Perform hand fitting operations (filing, scraping, polishing).
7.Check die components with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Slip Gauges, Dial Indicator).
8.Support tool trials, prove-out, and validation of new dies.
9.Ensure press shop readiness by maintaining tool life and performance.
10.Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards (5S, Kaizen).
Preferred candidate profile :
1.Knowledge of sheet metal processes (blanking, piercing, bending, deep drawing, forming).
2.Strong knowledge of press tools and dies.
3.Ability to handle measuring instruments.
4.Hands-on skills in fitting, assembly, and adjustment.
5.Basic CNC/Manual tool room machine handling (preferred).
6.Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
