• Welding and fabrication: Operate MIG welding equipment to join, assemble, and repair metal components with precision.
• Material preparation: Clean metal surfaces and select the correct filler metals, wire electrodes, and shielding gas for each job.
• Equipment setup: Adjust settings on the welding machine, such as amperage, voltage, and wire feed speed, for the specific material and thickness.
• Quality control: Inspect finished welds for defects and ensure they meet quality, strength, and safety standards.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and keep the work area clean and organized.

Essential skills and qualifications

• Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and other welding processes like TIG or stick.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
