Job Title: Senior Workday Reporting Analyst
Experience: 7+ Years
Location: Remote
Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Workday Reporting Analyst to drive advanced reporting, analytics, and stakeholder engagement across HR and Finance domains. This role requires not only strong technical expertise in Workday Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, BIRT) but also a proactive, self-sufficient professional who can partner with business leaders, anticipate needs, and deliver insights with minimal direction.
The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, distributed environment, communicates with impact, and consistently takes ownership of solutions end-to-end. This person will be expected to go beyond order taking and serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with HR, Finance, and Business leaders to proactively identify reporting and data needs before issues arise.
- Design, build, and optimize complex Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite, BIRT) to support workforce analytics, compliance, and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a liaison and consultant with stakeholders—clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions where appropriate, and providing actionable insights.
- Independently prioritize and manage workload, escalating only when necessary, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and timelines.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of reporting across HR and Finance domains.
- Document requirements, processes, and outputs to ensure transparency and repeatability.
- Stay current on Workday releases and new reporting features; advise stakeholders on opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain compliance with established Remote Work & Productivity Expectations Agreement (availability during core hours, timely communications, proactive updates, and maintaining a professional work environment).
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Workday Reporting & Analytics, including: Advanced, Matrix, and Composite Reporting; Calculated Fields; BIRT custom reporting (highly preferred).
- Proven track record of stakeholder management—ability to gather requirements, manage expectations, and deliver outcomes with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills—able to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively, anticipate needs, and act with urgency.
- Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting large-scale, distributed healthcare or professional services organizations.
- Familiarity with Workday Security, Workday HCM, or Finance modules.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience where self-sufficiency and initiative were critical to success.
Success Profile
- Be proactive: not just responding to requests, but identifying opportunities before being asked.
- Be self-sufficient: capable of driving tasks to completion without heavy direction.
- Be stakeholder-focused: engaging and influencing leaders with credibility and professionalism.
- Deliver consistent, high-quality reporting outputs that support strategic and tactical decision-making
