Embedded Engineer

Summary

We are seeking Embedded Engineer with SoC and/or FPGA experience to join our MedTech R&D team. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of SoC/FPGA-based solutions for next-generation smart medical imaging devices. Key Responsibilities

Electronic Design: Design and develop electronic circuit layouts using EDA tools (KiCad, Altium) in compliance with IPC standards and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.

FPGA Design & Development: Architect, design, and implement FPGA-based systems or evaluation modules using HDL languages (VHDL/Verilog/System Verilog).

Simulation & Verification: Perform simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and verification of FPGA designs using tools such as Vivado, Quartus, or ModelSim.

Implementation & Optimization: Deploy and optimize digital designs on FPGA platforms tailored to device-level requirements (latency, throughput, resource utilization).

Embedded Systems Integration: Interface FPGAs with microcontrollers, SoCs, and RTOS for seamless system-level integration.

Signal Processing: Develop, implement, and optimize digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for imaging and biomedical applications.

Debugging & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and logic-level design issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, ChipScope, and SignalTap.

Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive hardware validation, benchmarking, and compliance testing in lab environments.

Collaboration: Work closely with hardware, software, QA/RA, and compliance teams to ensure designs meet medical device regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 60601, ISO 13485, FDA).

Documentation: Prepare detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports and keep them up to date.

Research & Innovation: Stay updated on FPGA, SoC, DSP, and embedded technologies; recommend adoption of best practices and novel approaches in medical electronics.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields. 23 years of experience in FPGA-based solutions. Past experience in Medical Electronics and medical Imaging is a plus. And/Or
• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering/Embedded Systems/Biomedical Engineering with Medical Electronics Major with relevant project experience in FPGA based solutions. Past experience in Medical Electronics and Medical Imaging is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Good Experience in Circuit Designing platforms (Kicad, Altium).
• Foundational Knowledge in digital signal processing (DSP), including filtering, spectral analysis, and data compression.
• Proficiency in FPGA design, synthesis, and implementation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with FPGA design tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).
• Familiarity with HDL languages (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog).
• Experience with embedded systems (microcontrollers, ARM SoCs, RTOS).
• Knowledge of simulation and verification tools (ModelSim, QuestaSim, etc.).
• Familiarity with communication protocols (SPI, IC, UART, AXI, Ethernet).
• Experience with debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers).
• Exposure to scripting and high-level programming languages (Python, C/C++, MATLAB, TCL) for prototyping and automation.
