Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Mondee, you will play a key role in shaping and executing our DevOps and SRE strategy. Leveraging your extensive experience, you will drive the implementation of scalable DevOps practices, enhance automation, and ensure operational excellence across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. You will work cross-functionally with Engineering, QA, and IT teams to instill a DevOps culture and implement best practices at an enterprise level.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the DevOps roadmap and strategy, aligning with organizational goals and engineering maturity.
  • Assess current DevOps capabilities and propose phased improvements for adoption and scalability.
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) across cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to DevOps engineers and other cross-functional teams.
  • Champion the adoption of containerization, orchestration, and microservices architectures using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Lead the implementation of monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks using ELK Stack, Prometheus, and related tools.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure availability, performance, scalability, and security of applications and infrastructure.
  • Drive site reliability engineering (SRE) practices including chaos engineering, auto-healing systems, and high availability.
  • Oversee cloud infrastructure management, including automation, provisioning, cost optimization, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of critical production incidents and lead problem resolution efforts.
  • Maintain and enhance system observability using monitoring tools like Nagios, New Relic, Elastic APM, and SolarWinds.

Core Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Terraform, Ansible
  • Linux (system administration, shell scripting)
  • Python scripting for automation
  • Cloud platforms: OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP
  • CI/CD tools: Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI
  • Monitoring/logging: ELK Stack, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana
  • Messaging systems: RabbitMQ
  • Database administration: MongoDB

Preferred Qualifications

  • 812 years of relevant experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering roles.Proven track record of leading DevOps transformations at scale in large, complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum.
  • Experience with cloud-native application design and deployment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in a production environment with 24/7 uptime requirements.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
