Job Title: Deputy Manager – Quality Control
Reports To: QC Manager / Head of Quality
Department: Quality Assurance
Experience should be in: Precise Industries, Automobiles, Auto Ancillary or related industries
Location: Digha, Navi Mumbai
Job purpose:
To support and assist the QC Manager in ensuring that all electronic components and finished products meet defined quality standards, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements. The Deputy Manager will supervise QC operations, lead a team of quality inspectors, and coordinate with production, R&D, and suppliers to ensure consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Control Oversight:
Supervise day-to-day QC activities across incoming, in-process, and finished goods inspection.
Monitor adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and any applicable industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
Review and approve inspection reports, conduct process, product, system audits and test records.
2. Testing and Inspection:
Ensure timely testing of electronic assemblies, PCBs, SMT components, and finished products using tools like mustimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test equipment (ATE).
Develop inspection and test procedures for new products.
3. Team Leadership:
Lead and train quality engineers, inspectors and technicians.
Set objectives, perform performance reviews, and manage schedules and workloads.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate QC documentation, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) reports, and quality dashboards.
Generate weekly/monthly quality reports for management.
5. Root Cause Analysis and CAPA:
Lead investigations into quality failures and non-conformances.
Drive root cause analysis and ensure implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
6. Vendor and Supplier Quality:
Support supplier audits and incoming quality checks.
Work with suppliers to resolve component quality issues.
7. Continuous Improvement:
- Initiate and participate in Kaizen, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, or other quality improvement projects.
Qualifications & Requirements: -
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
8-12 years of experience in quality control within the electronics manufacturing sector.
Knowledge of electronics testing tools, IPC standards, and statistical process control (SPC).
Familiarity with ISO standards and internal audit procedures, PPAP, FMEA CP, MSA, QAP, 8D, COPQ, IATF will be added advantage.
Proficient in MS Office, QC tools, and ERP systems.
