Our client is a USA Headquartered manufacturer of Equipment and consumable products for aluminum production. They were established in 1956. Today, they have operations in 80 locations in more than 35 countries and have over 3000 employees. In India, it is headquartered in Pune. They have manufacturing plants in Pune as well as in Chennai (Pillaipakkam, Kanchipuram, District) Key role and responsibilities:  Employee Relations: Manage and cultivate positive relationships with the workforce, including unionized employees and women workmen; Address and resolve employee grievances promptly, ensuring a fair and supportive work environment.HR Policies and Practices: Develop, implement, and review IR policies and practices in line with legal requirements and industry best practices. Ensure consistent application and adherence to company policies across all levels.Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication skills to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Work closely with the Admin Manager to align HR and administrative functions seamlessly.Union Relations: Experience in effectively managing unionized workforces, addressing concerns, and negotiating agreements. Proactively engage in dialogue with Workmen representatives to maintain positive relations.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross -functional teams to ensure HR & IR initiatives support overall business objectives. Work closely with the Chennai Admin Manager to create a harmonious work environment.Reporting Structure: Functionally report to the company wide HR Head (who is located in Pune), contributing to overarching HR strategy and initiatives. Administratively report to the Head of Manufacturing in Chennai plant, ensuring alignment with plant -specific requirements.Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 8 -10 years of progressive experience in IR & HR matters, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in Tamil language and English is a must.Familiarity and experience with the IR situation in the local area (Chennai and its nearby surroundings) will be an added advantage. Skills and Attributes:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.Proven experience in developing and implementing IR/HR policies and practices.Pleasant personality with the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations.Results -driven with a focus on fostering a positive work culture.
