Job Title: Jr. Merchandiser

Qualification: Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Fashion Technology, Apparel Merchandising, or related field

Experience: 4* - 5 years*

Location: PS Srijan Corporate Park, Premises No Block GP, Plot – 2, Sector-V, Saltlake, Kolkata Corporate Office)

Job Summary:

The Junior Merchandiser will assist the merchandising team in handling day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth communication between buyers and production teams. The role involves coordinating sampling, order follow-up, and maintaining timelines to ensure on-time delivery of quality garments.

Key Responsibility:

Market Research and Trend Analysis:

Conduct market research to identify current fashion trends, consumer preferences, and emerging styles. Analyze competitor products and pricing strategies to inform product development.

Product Development and Line Planning:

Collaborate with design teams to develop new product lines and collections. Create line plans, ensuring that they align with market trends and brand strategy.

Sourcing and Supplier Management:

Identify and establish relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to optimize costs and quality.

Costing and Budgeting:

Develop and manage budgets for each product line or collection. Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.

Order Planning and Management:

Develop production schedules and coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Monitor order progress and address any delays or issues in production.

Sample Development and Approval:

Oversee the sample development process, ensuring that samples meet design specifications and quality standards. Provide feedback and approvals for samples before mass production.

Required Skills and Competencies:· Strong communication and coordination skills.

· Basic understanding of garment production processes (knits/woven).

· Good knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction.

· Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Email).

· Attention to detail and ability to multitask.

· Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
