Waaree's vision is to create a multi-billion-dollar BESS business that reinforces its position as a market leader in clean energy solutions.

Role Objective

The CEO will lead Waaree's Battery Energy Storage business with full responsibility for strategy, operations, technology, and commercial growth. The mandate is to build and scale this new vertical into a market leader, aligned with global energy storage trends.

Key Deliverables

Business Building & Market Leadership

  • Build a $2–4 billion BESS business in 5 years through strategic planning and execution.
  • Develop a strong sales pipeline and secure large-scale BESS contracts.
  • Engage with utilities, government bodies, and technology partners to establish market leadership.

Project Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Deliver 10 GW of energy storage projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and cost control.
  • Integrate solutions like smart grids, virtual power plants, and long-duration storage.

Technology & Innovation

  • Drive technology adoption, R&D, and product innovation for market differentiation.

Regulatory & Policy Management

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and monitor policy & market dynamics.

Organizational Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams, build talent, and foster a high-performance culture.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Senior leadership experience of 18 to 20 Years in energy storage, renewables, or related sectors.
  • Proven in scaling new businesses, managing large projects, and driving growth.
  • Strong in P&L management, business development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technologically adept with a track record of delivering on aggressive growth targets.
