Job Title: Factory Manager – Feed Mill

Department: Operations / Production

Job Summary:

The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire feed mill's operations — from raw material receipt to finished feed dispatch. The role ensures efficient production, quality control, manpower management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The Factory Manager plays a key role in optimizing productivity, maintaining product quality, and driving continuous improvement in feed manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:1. Production Management

  • Plan, organize, and control all production activities to achieve targeted output and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute daily and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts.
  • Ensure smooth operation of batching, grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling, and packaging processes.
  • Monitor production KPIs such as output, yield, and energy consumption.

2. Quality Assurance & ControlEnsure that feed quality meets company and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) lab for testing raw materials and finished products.
  • Implement corrective actions for any deviations in quality or formulation.
  • Enforce compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO, or equivalent standards.

3. Maintenance & Equipment Management

  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
  • Ensure timely calibration and upkeep of critical equipment.

4. Raw Material & Inventory Management

  • Supervise receipt, storage, and usage of raw materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the procurement team for replenishment.
  • Reduce material wastage and optimize resource utilization.

5. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all workers adhere to safety procedures.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding waste, dust, and emissions.

6. Manpower Supervision & Training

  • Manage and motivate production staff, technicians, and shift supervisors.
  • Plan manpower allocation for continuous operations.
  • Conduct training sessions for skill development and safety awareness.

7. Cost & Process Optimization

  • Monitor production costs and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Drive efficiency through automation and process innovations.

8. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
  • Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, and R&D departments.
  • Participate in management meetings and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Tech / M.Tech in Feed Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Animal Nutrition; or M.Sc. in relevant field.
  • Experience: 7–12 years of experience in feed mill operations with at least 3–5 years in a managerial/supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of feed milling processes and equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled automation systems.
  • Understanding of feed formulation, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50, ₹60,000.00 per month
