Senior Design Manager

About the Role

Zuper is hiring a Senior Design Manager to lead our small but mighty in-house creative team and raise the quality and velocity of everything we ship. You'll set the visual bar, mentor a designer and a video creator/producer, and jump in hands-on for many projects. You'll own process and art direction from brief to delivery, keep work flowing across web, social, video, events, and sales collateral, and bring a trusted bench of freelancers to scale on demand. You're equally comfortable pushing pixels, shaping narratives, and using AI tools to speed production without sacrificing craft.

Key Responsibilities

• Own Zuper's visual identity by setting creative strategy and expanding the brand guidelines, ensuring consistent application across all touchpoints.
• Translate briefs into strong concepts and lead art direction from kickoff through final delivery.
• Execute design work—web pages, campaigns, social media, events, pitch decks, and light motion—to set the quality bar.
• Mentor, inspire, and guide a team of designers and content creators, fostering innovation and excellence.
• Run creative operations including intake, prioritization, resourcing, timelines, trafficking, and status communication to keep projects on time.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product Marketing, Growth, Sales, Product and CS to turn objectives into effective creative.
• Oversee video and motion projects—storyboards, scripts, shoots, edits, and final delivery—for product and customer stories.
• Systematize production by maintaining reusable libraries (Figma components, slide masters, brand kits) to increase speed and consistency.
• Ensure production excellence with accessible, responsive, press- and dev-ready files and clean specs and handoffs.
• Manage external agencies and creative contractors as needed, ensuring quality and timely delivery of projects.
• Leverage AI to scale output and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Branding, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 6–12 years in design, creative direction, or content management, including 2+ years managing creatives.
• Strong portfolio showing multi-channel work (web, social, video, events, print) and visual storytelling/branding.
• Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma; working knowledge of Canva and presentation tools.
• Motion/video familiarity and comfort directing editors/animators.
• Proven ability to mentor designers, give precise feedback, and elevate output.
• A ready network of contractors you trust for surge capacity.
• Demonstrated use of AI tooling to boost quality and throughput.
• Excellent writing and content sense; able to draft headlines, captions, and slide copy when needed.
• Strong project management, resourcing, and stakeholder skills; calm under deadlines and detail-obsessed.
• B2B SaaS experience preferred; field-service or trade-industry experience is a plus.
