Job Description
The Regional Industry Consultant - Consumer Packaged Goods is a new role that brings in deep domain expertise for CPG industry through their vast experience and thought leadership on the industry/ segment. You will support sales teams articulate outcome-based messages to the "C suite" at customer. You will partner with the regional marketing and sub- regional leadership teams on jointly creating a short/ mid- term strategy. You will partner with regional functions (MA/Commercial ops) for enhancing RA's coverage and competency in the said segment/ industry. You will be also responsible to support key company/ regional initiatives, working closely with the global Industry leadership team. You will report to the DIRECTOR- INDUSTRY AND OEM, ASIA PACIFIC and have a hybrid schedule working in Mumbai, India.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide domain expertise on industry/ segment requirement and understand customer and their business challenges.
- Deliver talk around emerging industry/segment trends and how they are relevant for a particular customer, the business benefits associated with these and how Rockwell can help achieve these outcomes.
- Deliver initial plant walk and initiate consulting services to drive customer outcomes (productivity/OEE/Optimization/ROI)
- Support sales in building C- level engagement for target accounts by driving business outcome discussions and be an advisory to identify necessary ecosystem to deliver outcomes.
- Single contact for global Industry to launch and support key company initiatives (Strategic accounts/Process/CE/CS etc) and interface on critical projects.
- Coordinate with Marketing and participate in Industry forums and tradeshows - speaking engagements and delivering white papers.
- Coordinate with Market access and support SI/Partner's enablement (training and credentialing) through industry domain knowledge
- Coordinate with Market access and sales; Identify gaps in industry coverage and identify partner to fill those gaps.
- Provide Industry insights and value preposition to marketing/sales enablement for competency development (C level messaging / playbooks)
- Deliver knowledge sharing through Industry affinity team calls through Marketing.
- Provide industry performance insights during QPR.
- Coordinate with Sales leadership and support Industry influenced accounts in the region (focused and strategic) and their C level relationships to develop them as future potential Enterprise accounts.
- Advise business units /marketing to identify and build Industry repeatable application/ solutions.
- Support marketing to build Industry BSR and definition of winning across the region; and monitor execution.
- Support Business units and Provide insight on Solution and technology gaps.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
· Bachelor/Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering or other technical fields
· Minimum 15-20 years of experience in CPG industry with solid Domain knowledge in the relevant industry and commercial experience is must.
· Consultative mindshare and problem-solving capabilities.
· Very high degree of customer orientation.
· Strong self- drive and ability to create a mindshare by being seen as a thought leader.
· Intermediate level of expertise on our / equivalent products portfolios. w Intermediate level of expertise in Training. w Intermediate expertise in Prospecting & New Customer Development, w Project / Implementation Management and Sales Fundamentals with a basic level of expertise in Market Research & Analysis (Market & Economic Trends, Customer Buying Behavior, Competitor Research)
· The ability to manage complex, multi-month projects and personnel. Proven track record in delivering white papers and case studies.
· Exhibits proficiency and for project performance and meeting customer needs.
· Geographic understanding of AP as a region is.
· Bilingual language skills for Mandarin and English.
· Ability to travel greater than 30% of time (global travel may be required).
· Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects, with very high orientation towards collaborative winning.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
Experience of working in a matrix environment and have handled team of 5-10 direct/indirect reportees.
High-level program management capabilities to put the structures and align the activities to be done.
Support Region/sub regions meet/exceed AOP for CPG industry/ segment.
Lead/Win complex strategic pursuits throughout the sales cycle.
Create CPG community and provide thought leadership within Rockwell through leading the projects.
Participate in key identified marketing events to present RA value proposition.
In this customer-facing sales role, you will liaise and build relationships with our customers executive management teams to meet or exceed allocated sales target across a broad range of industrial software, power control and process control solutions. Your competitive advantage and success will be achieved by using Rockwell Automation's important areas of innovation and difference, our Smart Manufacturing – Industry 4.0 – technologies such as Augmented Reality, the best IIoT platforms, Advanced Analytics, MES solutions and our Connected Enterprise integrated architecture.
As a Strategic Account Manager (SAM), you will act as the primary point of contact for few of our high-value Automotive clients, Experience digging into prospects' pain points and validating the issues they're facing with key decision-makers, identifying new business opportunities within those accounts, and strategically managing their portfolio to achieve long-term growth and customer satisfaction, often by developing tailored account plans to maximize their potential while aligning with our client's goals; important responsibilities include relationship building, strategic planning, opportunity identification, collaboration, and ensuring client retention and satisfaction.
You will report to National Sales Leader - End User. You will be based out of our Pune-Balewadi office.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with important partners at assigned client accounts, including C-level executives.
- Establish trust and become a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business needs and challenges.
- Proactively engage with clients to proactively address concerns.
- Strategic Planning:
- Create detailed account plans outlining strategies, and tactics to achieve desired outcomes within each client account.
- Analyze client data to identify potential growth areas and opportunities for expansion.
- Develop customised solutions that align with client business goals and address their unique requirements.
- Sales and Revenue Generation:
- Identify new business opportunities within identified accounts, including cross-selling and upselling products or services.
- Lead sales cycles, negotiate contracts, and close deals with key decision-makers.
- Manage account revenue and ensure achievement of sales targets.
- Account Management:
- Monitor client satisfaction levels and address any issues promptly.
- Manage account renewals and contract negotiations
- Regularly review account performance against important metrics and adjust strategies as needed Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams (Sales, BU's, Marketing, and extended ecosystem distributors and RCSI's) to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and services to clients.
- Coordinate other departments to support client needs and address complex issues. Communication and Reporting:
- Provide regular updates to team members on account progress and important client insights.
- Prepare presentations and reports to demonstrate account value and Return on investment to clients.
Required Skills for a Strategic Account Manager:
- Degree in Business, IT, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Understanding of automotive domain.
- Knowledge of automation systems (PLC , SCADA, Dives…etc.) including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), and AI-driven automation.
- Minimum of 15 or more years of experience with business value selling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strategic thinking and planning capabilities
- Negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with important decision-makers
- Experience in exceeding sales targets and achieving account growth
- Software experience - Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Business Intelligence, Digital Transformation, Analytics, Advanced Analytics etc.
