Role Overview

The Certifying Technician is responsible for carrying out and certifying maintenance, repair, and overhaul tasks on heavy aircraft in compliance with regulatory and company standards. The role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on experience, and the ability to ensure airworthiness by signing off maintenance activities. The Certifying Technician acts as a key link between maintenance execution and production management, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on heavy aircraft.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM manuals, regulatory requirements, and organizational procedures.
  • Conduct detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and rectification of defects.
  • Accurately complete and certify aircraft maintenance records and documentation.
  • Liaise with the Production Manager on work progress, technical issues, and manpower planning.
  • Supervise and guide junior technicians and mechanics during maintenance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives within the MRO.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionics Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience on heavy aircraft in an MRO /Heavy Maintenance environment.
  • Prior certifying experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid certifying privileges/licenses (as per regulatory authority) will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards.
  • Prior Experience on C130J preferred
