Summary of the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with 7+ years of experience in modern data engineering practices. In this hybrid role based in Bangalore, you will be part of a collaborative team environment, designing and optimizing robust, scalable data pipelines to meet complex business needs, particularly in Finance and high-volume environments such as Retail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data pipelines using Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, and Kafka.
  • Assemble and process large, complex datasets from disparate sources that meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure effective data solutions for analytics and operations.
  • Optimize data delivery and automate manual processes using SQL, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Integrate and orchestrate finance-related data solutions with a focus on performance, data integrity, and security.
  • Build and implement real-time streaming data workflows using Kafka and related technologies.
  • Troubleshoot bottlenecks and performance issues in ambiguous or high-pressure environments.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technology evaluations through POCs.
  • Implement CI/CD practices and build data validation/integrity checks.
  • Follow and enforce best practices for development frameworks in a cloud-based environment.
Required Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • 7+ years of data engineering experience (minimum 5+ relevant years acceptable).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, and Apache Kafka.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Solid understanding of modern data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouse architectures.
  • Proven ability to build performant, scalable, and secure data solutions in a cloud ecosystem.
  • Experience working with large-volume datasets and real-time messaging systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Oracle Exadata, Power BI, SSAS, and Oracle Data Integrator.
  • Familiarity with Microservices architecture.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript and data science concepts.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Experience in retail or finance data environments.
