Oracle EBS Finance Functional Consultant
with expertise in
E-Business Tax (EB-Tax)
is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting the Oracle E-Business Suite financial modules, with a specific focus on global tax compliance and configuration.

Key Responsibilities

A professional in this role typically performs the following tasks:

  • Implementation & Configuration
    : Lead or participate in end-to-end Oracle EBS R12 implementations, upgrades, and support projects for financial modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CM), Subledger Accounting (SLA), and EB-Tax.
  • Requirements Gathering
    : Work closely with business stakeholders and finance teams to gather and analyze business requirements, perform FIT-GAP analysis, and translate them into scalable Oracle EBS solutions.
  • EB-Tax Expertise
    : Configure and implement EB-Tax solutions to ensure compliance with global tax regulations (e.g., VAT, GST, Sales Tax) and optimize tax setups across multi-country and multi-currency environments.
  • Documentation
    : Prepare detailed functional design documents (MD50, BR100), test scripts, and user training materials following methodologies like AIM/OUM.
  • Testing & Support
    : Drive User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and production cutover activities. Provide post-production support, troubleshoot issues, and manage service requests (SRs) with Oracle Support.
  • Integration & Collaboration
    : Collaborate with technical teams (SQL, PL/SQL developers) to develop and test RICE (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements) components and ensure seamless integration with other modules like Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Procurement.
  • Month/Year-End Activities
    : Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience
    : Typically 5-15+ years of functional experience in Oracle EBS R12 Financials, with hands-on experience in multiple full-cycle implementations.
  • Modules
    : Strong functional depth in GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, SLA, and EB-Tax.
  • Technical Skills
    : Proficiency with SQL queries for troubleshooting and data analysis; understanding of Oracle APIs and table structures is a plus.
  • Finance Knowledge
    : In-depth knowledge of financial processes, including Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Order-to-Cash (O2C), and Record-to-Report (R2R) cycles.
  • Education
    : A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or professional finance certification (CA/ICWA) is often preferred
