CGI Compositor for DaVinci Resolve " Fusion " Focused entry only

Position Summary

We are seeking a creative and technically proficient Compositor with specialized expertise in DaVinci Resolve's Fusion page to integrate CGI elements seamlessly into live-action footage. This role requires a strong eye for detail, deep knowledge of the node-based workflow, and the ability to produce high-quality, photorealistic visual effects under tight deadlines. You will be critical in the final stages of our post-production pipeline.

Nature of Work and Core Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is achieving the final photorealistic look for visual effects shots using Fusion.

• Node-Based Compositing: Execute complex, photorealistic CGI integration, keying, tracking, and cleanup using Fusion's node system within the DaVinci Resolve environment.
• CGI Integration: Composite 3D renders (passes such as Diffuse, Specular, Ambient Occlusion, Z-Depth, etc.) generated by other departments, ensuring light wrap, shadows, and reflections are perfectly integrated with the live-action plate.
• Rotoscoping and Keying: Perform advanced rotoscoping and utilize various keying techniques (Primatte, Ultra Key, Luminance) to extract and isolate foreground elements from backgrounds.
• Tracking and Stabilization: Employ 2D and 3D tracking tools (Planar Tracker, Camera Tracker) to match motion within the plate, stabilize shaky footage, and insert elements seamlessly into dynamic shots.
• Colour and Look Development: Perform colour correction, grading, and grain matching to ensure the final composite is consistent with the surrounding footage and final cinematic look.
• Cleanup and Wire Removal: Execute paint-out and patch work (e.g., rig removal, wire removal, beauty cleanup) to finalize plates.

Software Proficiency and Tools to Know

Expert knowledge of the DaVinci Resolve ecosystem is mandatory, with supplemental knowledge in related creative tools being a strong asset.

• Primary Tool: DaVinci Resolve Studio (Expert in the Fusion Page). This includes deep familiarity with Fusion's toolset, scripting capabilities (Lua/Python), and workflow within the Resolve colour and edit pages.
• Supporting Tools:
• Adobe Photoshop for texture generation, matte creation, and cleanup assets.
• Basic understanding of 3D software workflows (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) to understand render passes and projection techniques.
• Workflow Systems: Knowledge of file formats and color spaces relevant to professional post-production (e.g., EXR, ACES workflow, Log footage).

• Photorealism Mastery: A highly developed understanding of light, shadow, optics, and atmosphere needed to achieve believable, photorealistic composites.
• Node-Based Logic: Ability to build efficient, clean, and well-organized node trees that can be easily debugged and iterated upon by others.
• Colour Science: Expertise in color space management, linear workflow, and grain/noise matching.
• Stereo/Multi-View Compositing: (Optional but highly valued) Experience working with multi-camera or stereo imagery.

Soft Skills (Professional & Collaborative)

• Critical Attention to Detail: An exceptional eye for subtle flaws, such as mismatched grain or poor edge integration, required for high-end VFX work.
• Time Management: Ability to manage multiple shots simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet strict production deadlines.
• Receptivity to Feedback: Professional capacity to quickly understand and integrate notes and creative direction from the VFX Supervisor or Director.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with the 3D, Editorial, and Colour departments.

Salary: It will be decided as per your expertise and skillset

Pay: ₹7, ₹25,000.00 per month
