Boiler Operator

They must have boiler licence.Boiler operator monitors, operates, and maintains boiler systems to ensure they are safe and efficient. Key responsibilities include controlling pressure and temperature, performing routine inspections and maintenance, conducting water quality tests, and making minor repairs. They are also responsible for keeping detailed records and following strict safety protocols.

Key duties and responsibilities

· System operation: Operate and adjust high-pressure boilers and related equipment (pumps, controls, gauges) to ensure efficient production of heat, steam, or hot water.

· Monitoring: Continuously monitor gauges, meters, and other indicators to track pressure, temperature, water levels, and fuel flow.

· Maintenance and repair: Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance, replace worn parts like valves and filters, and conduct minor repairs on piping and equipment.

· Safety and compliance: Strictly adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, conduct safety tests, and ensure the system is compliant with all standards.

· Water treatment: Perform chemical testing and treatment of boiler feed water to prevent corrosion and maintain system integrity.

· Record keeping: Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, readings, maintenance, and any issues encountered.

· Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose system malfunctions, and take corrective action to resolve them.

Required skills and qualifications

· Technical knowledge: A strong understanding of boiler systems, including how they operate and common issues that may arise.

· Attention to detail: The ability to carefully monitor equipment and quickly identify potential problems.

· Physical stamina: Physical strength and dexterity for tasks such as handling equipment and working in boiler rooms.

· Problem-solving: The ability to troubleshoot issues and perform repairs efficiently.

· Communication: Good communication skills for coordinating with other staff and for reporting system performance.
