VP - Finance

Role Overview

As the VP of Finance at Glomopay, you will be the cornerstone of our financial compliance and taxation strategy, reporting directly to the founder. This senior leadership position is designed for a taxation and regulatory expert who will build and lead our finance function, ensuring our IFSCA-authorized Payment Service Provider operates with unwavering compliance excellence. You'll be instrumental in scaling our compliance-first cross-border payment infrastructure from both our Bangalore headquarters and GIFT City operations.

Key Responsibilities
Taxation & Regulatory Excellence

• Own the entire taxation landscape including direct tax, indirect tax (GST), international taxation, and transfer pricing for our cross-border payment operations
• Ensure comprehensive compliance with IFSCA, RBI and other regulators regulations, directives, and all applicable laws for payment service providers
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes in fintech and payments, proactively updating policies and procedures
• Build strong relationships with regulatory authorities including IFSCA, ensuring timely submissions and maintaining exemplary compliance standards

Financial Leadership & Operations

• Oversee financial controllers managing accounting, reconciliation, and transaction operations across GIFT City and Bangalore offices
• Direct the finance team handling GST, tax compliance, payroll management, and escrow operations
• Establish robust internal controls and governance frameworks befitting a regulated payment institution
• Drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with our growth trajectory
• Ensure seamless coordination between GIFT City transaction operations and Bangalore corporate finance functions

Team Building & Development

• Lead and expand the current finance team of 2 professionals into a high-performing department
• Hire and develop specialized talent for taxation, compliance, and regulatory reporting roles
• Build team capabilities to handle complex cross-border payment regulations and international tax matters
• Create structured processes enabling the team to independently manage routine regulatory interfaces
• Foster a culture of compliance excellence and continuous learning

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary or supervisory interface with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
• Manage relationships with banking partners, ensuring smooth financial operations
• Lead statutory audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance certifications
• Present financial and compliance matters to board members and potential investors
• Coordinate with legal and compliance teams on regulatory submissions

Strategic Financial Partnership

• Partner directly with the founder on strategic tax planning and financial decision-making
• Support fundraising activities with financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and investor reporting
• Provide tax and regulatory insights for new product development and market expansion
• Optimize corporate structure for tax efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance
• Drive cost optimization initiatives without compromising compliance standards

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 8-10 years in finance with deep specialization in taxation and regulatory compliance, with relevant industry experience
• Core Expertise: Proven track record in managing complex tax structures, regulatory filings, and compliance frameworks
• Industry Background: Experience in fintech, banking, NBFC, or regulated financial services strongly preferred

• Qualifications: CA/CS qualification highly preferred; CPA or equivalent welcome

• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to build and lead finance teams

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in tax software, ERP systems, and regulatory reporting tools
• Expert-level command of Indian direct and indirect taxation
• Strategic mindset with meticulous attention to compliance details
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to translate complex tax and regulatory matters into business insights
