  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience, with a focus on Internal Medicine/General Medicine /Family Medicine
  • Experience in a long-term care facility or geriatric care center is highly desirable.

Job Summary:

The Resident Doctor in KSC is responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to elderly patients. This role involves reviewing, diagnosing and managing chronic and acute medical conditions, collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team, and contributing to the development and implementation of individualized care plans. The Resident Doctor ensures the highest standards of patient care, focusing on the unique needs of the Geriatric population.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Care

  • Patient Assessment:
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and medical histories of elderly patients.
  • Evaluate and diagnose medical conditions, considering the complexities associated with geriatric patients.
  • Medical Management:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, addressing both acute and chronic conditions.
  • Prescribe medications, therapies, and other treatments in accordance with best practices and patient needs.
  • Monitoring and Follow-Up:
  • Regularly monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to ensure the effectiveness of treatments and interventions.
  • Emergency Care:
  • Provide urgent and emergency medical care as needed.
  • Stabilize patients and coordinate further care or transfer to specialized facilities if required.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and care plans.
  • Family Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with patients' families, providing updates on medical conditions and treatment plans.

Administrative Duties

  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients – admission notes, discharge advice, emergency transfer, counselling notes and all applicable consent forms both EMR as well as hardcopy .
  • Ensure documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Working Conditions:

· Work is typically performed in a clinical setting within the geriatric care center.

· May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays to provide continuous patient care.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Capacity to perform physical examinations and medical procedures.
